II General Presentation
MSF Sweden was founded in 1993. As a partner in the international MSF movement, MSF Sweden exists to assist populations in danger by recruiting medical and non-medical volunteers, by raising funds and by raising awareness and pressuring for change through the act of temoignage, or advocacy.
From 1993 onward, as MSF has established itself in Swedish society as one of the foremost humanitarian organisations (accentuated by MSF receiving the Nobel Peace Prize in 1999), Swedish media has become well aware of MSF's global presence, work and capacity. Media frequently contacts us for information, interviews with volunteers and other spokespersons as well as seeks our opinion on humanitarian issues.
III Visions of the post:
For MSF to be the best source of information in Sweden regarding populations in danger and the leading voice on humanitarian issues.
Through témoignage and information in the Swedish media, and various communications activities directed to the general public, make populations in danger visible in order to engage Swedish society, provoke action and be a catalyst for change

To be the gate-keeper for press material and deal with the internal/external information flow.
To support other departments on press issues and act as a creative resource for the office.
To contribute to the MSF movement with material (news stories, photos, films etc) from field trips and by being available to leave as an Emergency Press Officer when needed.
