hela Sverige Swedish Space Corporation (SSC) is a recognized system integrator and supplier of small and micro-satellites. We are also specialised in developing Attitude Orbit & Control Systems, advanced on-board data handling system units, on-board basic and applications software, propulsion systems, and ground systems for testing and mission control. Additionally, we have extensive operational experience.
SSC has been the prime contractor for a number of small satellites in which it has been both effective and successful. Two examples are the Odin aeronomy and astronomy observatory carrying a mm-wave radiometer now delivering nearly 7 years of world-class science. The second is the first European lunar probe SMART-1 that we built for ESA.
Current projects at the Space Systems Division include the first European formation flying mission PRISMA, ESA’s first formation flying mission PROBA-3, a contribution to a European small geostationary communications satellite, and the development of an orbital life extension vehicle (OLEV), for telecommunications satellites which is based on SMART-1.
The Space Data Systems Department of the Space Systems Division is currently searching for qualified engineers to participate in the development and test of future satellites power systems.
The person does not necessary have to be a power subsystem designer but should have the necessary skills to specify and manage the procurement of items belonging to a power system.
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS
MSc "Power Electronics Engineering", or equal, is considered necessary.
o Experience in definition, specification and/or design and development of power subsystem including the following areas (in order of importance):
• Power control and distribution system, batteries, and solar panels
• Analogue circuitry
• EMC (define, perform and evaluate)
• Integration and verification
• Digital electronics including programmable logic and VHDL
• Data communication
o Familiar with requirements-based design, development and verification.
o Fluent in English, written and spoken
WORKING SITUATION
You will be working in an informal dynamic environment in cooperation with other subsystems and in many cases with direct customer or subcontractor contacts. A high degree of personal responsibility is expected at all levels of work.
The working languages are Swedish and English.
