Lars Olson's research group studies nerve growth plasticity and models of neurodegenerative disease, aging, and spinal cord injury.
We now seek a highly motivated postdoc with strong experience in molecular biology and neuroscience, to become one of our colleagues.
Duties
To carry out experimental studies of the formation of lasting memories and how ageing influences the brain, using transgenic and normal mice. The task will be to breed and analyze the behavior repertoire and memory functions, as well as the brains, of mtDNA mutator mice (with premature ageing), with respect to transcriptional and protein alterations using "omics" and other techniques, and with a special focus on Nogo-mediated nerve growth inhibiting signaling. The applicant should have hands on experience with rodents, including behavior studies, and biochemical and histological analysis of brain and other tissues.

A person is eligible for a position as Postdoctoral Researcher if he or she has obtained a PhD no more than seven years before the last date of employment as postdoc.
The position is a 2 year full time position with the possibility of a 2 year extension.
