It is expected that the candidate will undertake activities such as finding ways of modeling functional and non-functional properties, developing techniques that use these models to generate test cases, implementing these techniques as prototype tools and experimentally evaluating cost-efficiency and effectiveness of the proposed techniques
The position offers an exciting opportunity to work with industrial use cases, developed in cooperation with leading Swedish embedded system companies (such as Volvo Construction Equipment and Bombardier Transportation). The postdoc is further allowed and expected to spend one day per week at the industry partner(s).
In addition to the above mentioned research duties, you are expected to contribute in the development of testing courses (~20%), falling within the PROMPT initiative. Currently, MDH is offering three testing courses: software testing (7.5 points), regression test selection & software fault prediction (2.5 points) and model-based testing (2.5 points). You are expected to assist the main course responsible once the course is offered and in improving the existing course content prior to the course offering.
It is a temporary employment for 2 years (with a possibility of extension to 2 more years).
The applicant is required to have a PhD degree in computer science or software engineering or embedded systems or in a closely related discipline. You should be able to demonstrate research and pedagogical skills within the subject area.
The position requires sound verbal and written communication skills in English.
To qualify for the appointment as a postdoctoral research fellow, you should have received a PhD within 2010-2017 and shown research and pedagogical skills within the subject area. Further reference is made to the Higher Education Ordinance section 4 and Appointments Procedure for teachers at Mälardalen University.
In general terms the assessment criteria shall be based on the ability to cooperate as well as the ability and suitability otherwise required to fulfil the duties well.
The same attention shall be paid to the assessment of teaching skills as to the assessment of academic skills.
Most suitable candidate will be selected based on a combined evaluation of competence and skills, in addition to documented qualifications. Considerable importance is attached to personal suitability. Personal suitability will be judged in relation to the candidate's ability to effectively carry out the project research work, teaching duties and to contribute to an existing positive research environment.
Decisive importance is attached to personal suitability. We value the qualities that an even distribution of age and gender, as well as ethnic and cultural diversity, can contribute to the organisation.
Merit:
• Sound research experience in software testing, ideally in model-based software testing, and in conducting empirical studies, demonstrated by peer-reviewed publications.
• Interest in interaction with international partner companies and fostering cooperation.
• Experience in teaching at the university level, especially in courses relevant to software testing.
• Proficient English communication and writing skills
