Summary: The Raoul Wallenberg Institute of Human Rights and Humanitarian Law in Lund, Sweden, offers candidates who recently have been awarded a PhD/LL.D. in international human rights law or humanitarian law, the opportunity to apply for a two-year Postdoc position under the Department for Research and Academic Education. Candidates for the position are requested to submit an outline for a research project, or ideas to a number of projects, that can be further developed and initiated and finally result in strengthening the Institute's international research environment.
Job description: The Postdoc position entails:
• Individual research in the field of international human rights law, preferably related to general human rights law and practice, minority rights law, or humanitarian law;
• Give lectures/seminars and otherwise participate in activities related to academic education, all as per agreement with the Head of Department;
• Participate in the the activities of the Programme Department, including travelling with in the International Programmes, all as per agreement with Head of Department;
• Submit research plan for the two-year period on yearly basis;
• Report to the Head of Department.
Qualifications: The applicant shall have:
• A PhD/LLD no older than two years with the specialization in human rights law or humanitarian law;
• Professional experience in areas relevant to the Institute's field of activities;
• Analyitical, interpersonal and pedagogical skills;
• Cultural sensitivity and judgement; and
• Fluency in English, and/or other language relevant to the Institute activities.
