It was founded in 2011 by the Stockholm School of Economics and the Institute for Financial Research (SIFR) through a government initiative to strengthen financial research in Sweden with the aim to be one of the top research institutions in Europe. The fundamental objective of the Swedish House of Finance is:
To create a hub for strengthening financial research in Sweden;
To assemble strength and obtain benefits of scale that enable future expansion;
To share positive external effects with the private, public and academic sectors in Sweden.
The Post-Doctoral position will enable an outstanding early-career economist to visit SHoF for two years of intensive research on household finance and its related fields. The successful candidate is expected to be full time at SHoF for the duration of the position and actively participate in the activities of the research center. Approximately half time is devoted to support research projects of faculty affiliated with SHoF.
Applicants should be recent PhD graduates with a strong interest and research experience in household finance. They should have a deep and proven knowledge in the empirical methods and tools used in household finance, such as panel data econometrics, data cleaning and imputation techniques, as well as good to excellent programming skills in Stata, SAS and Matlab. Excellent spoken and written English is a requirement.
