The key purpose of this role is to:
- be a member of GKNA's global PDLM programme team, undertaking a range of activities to contribute as much as possible to achieving programme objectives, and as a result, develop personally to fulfil a larger scope of responsibilities in the PDLM team in the future;
- support the creation, management, endorsement and adoption of GKNA's 'PDLM Standard', so that GKNA's global product organisations can assess their PLM capabilities against the Standard, identifying and closing necessary gaps to drive business change and to achieve targeted capability/process performance improvements
- as theTrollhättan site has extensive PLM cababilities and resources it is well suited for collaborating with this type of role.
Key Responsibilities
*Understand the importance and value of excellent product data management, and how to achieve it via a Standard PDLM Information System, and be able to explain this to managers and technical people;
• Help create the PDLM Standard and Project Pack; and manage their configuration, version control, release management and maintenance;
• Create a set of PDLM 'demonstration videos' to show how different aspects of the PDLM Standard translate into value-adding PLM capabilities;
• Establish a process for taking feedback from GKNA product organisations and lessons learned from past projects; and incorporating these into the PDLM Standard, as agreed, and managing its updated release;
• Support GKNA product organisations in adopting the PDLM Standard and assessing themselves against it, identifying and analysing gaps that warrant closure, and supporting development/execution of plans to achieve targeted business benefits;
• Help establish metrics that report the value-add gained from implementing the PDLM Standard;
Skills:

• Strong stakeholder management skills, internally and externally;

• Knowledge of engineering processes;
• Understanding, usage and management of technical documents;
• Highly IT literate, with some understanding of IT systems and their data architectures;
• Knowledge of mapping and analysing business process, an advantage;
Experience:
• Design &/or Manufacturing Engineering processes within an aerospace company;
• Ideally, membership of a transformational project team, driving business change and process performance improvement across parts of the product lifecycle;
• Using some combination of PLM; CAD/CAM; and/or ERP technologies/systems;
• Well versed with the GKN Aerospace PDLM standard, with extensive experiense in its applications.
• Experienced with carrying out GKNA PDLM assessments.
• Famililar with GKN's global PLM-related activities and strategy.
