What we offer
Packaging Engineering is responsible for the development, optimize and implementation of packaging solutions towards our car plants. All parts delivered to a plant must be transported and handled in packaging that are quality assured, ergonomic to handle and cost efficient. This is applicable in the complete supply chain, including empty return flows. This is why product packaging plays an important role in the general logistic setup, quality and landed cost structure.
What you'll do
As our next packaging engineer you will be responsible for implementing packaging solutions for batch and sequence parts according to Volvo cars standards to make sure flawless project launch in terms of packaging readiness and availability. We work towards and together with part suppliers and packaging supplier to ensure timely system updates of relevant packaging data. You will ensure cost efficient and quality assured packaging solutions as well as smooth and cost efficient flows of packaging and components. You will also:
* Provide support to local plant packaging engineers when necessary
* Status reports & packaging development according and have continuous contact with different departments.
* Work to limit unnecessary or in other way unwanted repacks
Do you fit the profile?
To succeed in this role, we believe that you have a; university degree, or equivalent professional working experience. You have experience in project lead oriented issues, work life experience from positions where you have worked with packaging engineering. You are proficient in English, both spoken and written and have the ability to travel.
Meritorious
* Experience in Logistics and/or Production from Volvo Cars
* Knowledge in Swedish language is an advantage
