The Competence Center for CAD/CAM is responsible for the development and operation of a joint global CAD/CAM environment within Sandvik Machining Solutions, with users around the globe. You will be part of an exciting and creative environment where work, to a large degree, is carried out in project form, often with a global character.
Key performance areas
The Method department supports product development of cutting tools in a global organization. You will be involved in improving the efficiency of processes from design and development to production. The aim is to develop methods that support an efficient product development process. This also includes training users, and the department arranges courses on a regular basis, at our office in Sandviken and at some of our offices globally
Key competencies for the Method Developer are a profound knowledge of our CAD system NX and a good understanding of product development methods and tools. You will use your skills to help deliver applications that are structured and documented, and that comply with the specifications from our stakeholders. Your contacts will be in both product development and production.
Your profile
We are looking for someone with a BSc or MSc in Engineering, with a focus on mechanical engineering, or who has acquired the equivalent knowledge in another manner. Experience from product development and/or CAD/CAM operations is advantageous, as is previous work with training in some form. Good English skills, both verbal and in writing, are also required.
As a person you are a service-minded and quality-conscious problem solver interested in improving working methods and making them more efficient. You have strong cooperative skills and the ability to build and maintain networks. As the work involves considerable contact with diverse parties, you must be communicative and able to share your knowledge with others effectively.
