Your role
With us you will get to work with the hole process in building a sub! Your position involves mechanical design in both new-build and modernization-projects of submarines, the work is mostly conducted in the tools Creo and Windchill. You will work with product requirements as well as concept- and drawing development. The job also includes the development of new technical solutions and that you actively participate in applying our design methodology. In the role, you have several cross-functional contact surfaces for areas of expertise such as engineers within structural mechanics, work preparation, welding and production personnel.
The main tasks are:
* 3D-modelling i Creo och Windchill
* Refine design requirements from concept to finished product
* Prepare and review designs and drawings for manufacturing
* Conduct your own design work in the form of design reviews with regards to time and quality
A few travel days mainly to our shipyard in Karlskrona, might occur.
Your profile
You are committed and proactive in your work with a natural aptitude for finding simple and sustainable solutions. You are responsible and enjoy being part of a larger team. As the development of our products progresses over a longer period of time, patience and determination is required. You have your own responsibility for your deliveries and opportunities to influence and develop our processes and methodologies. Therefore, we see an advantage if you strive to identify opportunities of improvement.
Requirements:
* Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
* A few years' experience from 3D modeling and drawing production
* Positive, structured and always committed to finding solutions within your team to achieve our goals
* Excellent communication skills in Swedish and English, verbal and written
Desired skills:
* Experience from naval companies
* Creo and Windchill
* Experience and knowledge of pipe-design, welded constructions as well as geometry tolerance
* Previous experience from product development
This position requires that you pass a security vetting based on the current regulations around/of security protection. For positions requiring security clearance additional obligations on citizenship may apply.
What you will be a part of
The Business Area Arrangement, today consists of a wonderful and competent team of about 120 employees divided into four sections. The section you will become part of, has i.a. responsibility for outboard arrangements, arrangements for the living environment and the control room as well as system responsibility for the living environment and stowage. We produce production and installation documentation for our production site in Karlskrona. You will get to work with a great knowledgeable team were we learn and grow together. Sometimes you have to work hard and put in an extra gear, but at Saab we also promote work life balance!
