Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions. Connected to this there are product- and industrialisation projects ongoing at Scania Oskarshamn. Our department Tools and fixture design at the Technical Center in Oskarshamn, is having an important role in both the adaption of existing equipment as well as the development of new equipment.
We are now searching for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join the team, who will be a part of these challenging and exiting projects.
Your role
As a Mechanical Design Engineer at Technical Center you will support all operations at Scania Oskarshamn with designs of production and logistics equipment of various kinds. You will get a broad contact network and cooperate with a lot of people from different departments. The assignments contains development from small simple tooling to more advanced automatic fixtures. You will work in a diverse team with different amount of experience and background. As a group we care of each other and includes everyone. Together we take responsibility for the delivery from our group. We are using Catia as our design software and are responsible to maintain and archive the mechanical documentation for the equipment. In actual cases we perform CE-marking of the equipment we design and manufacture.
In a cross functional environment you will get the chance to take full responsibility for the complete development and installation of the equipment including:
• Concept design
• Cost estimation
• Detail design
• Manufacturing
• Installation
Your profile
In order for you to thrive in the role we see that you are unpretentious and are not afraid to ask for support to fulfil your delivery as well as you like to share your knowledge with others.
As a person you are innovative, analytic, structured and transparent and keen on doing things correct. You are in a natural way working together with employees from other departments and companies and like to take actions to make sure the project moves forward. You have at least an Bachelor degree within Mechanical engineering, or similar.
Work experience from similar assignments is an advantage. Experience within digitalisation and/or AI is also an advantage, since we continuously aim to improve our working methods and internal processes using new possibilities.
