Vi söker nu en Material Controller till Volvo Powertrain i Skövde. Uppdraget är på konsultbasis under drygt ett år med start 1 juni. Urval och intervjuer sker löpande så varmt välkommen med din ansökan redan idag.
Arbetsuppgifter
Purpose and contents of the role:
Responsible for day to day procurement actions, within a suppliers' scope for own Powertrain Production (PTP) site being delivered by those suppliers.
Responsibility:
• Efficiently and in most cost efficient way procure material from suppliers, in accordance with the production schedules on the own PTP site, to ensure that materials are shipped on time, materials arrive via standard transportation and do not require urgent shipments and that the assembly operations are not disturbed,. Promptly resolve transport issues.
• Take instant actions to secure shortages and alerts organize short term deliveries, based on analysis and/or production / reception information, e.g. stock and quality deviations.
• Communicate with supplier when own sites' production is jeopardized, immediately demand action plan from supplier and monitor progress. Escalate on an as needed basis, in the event of critical situation.
• When disruptions appear: investigate the reason for disruption and initiate a dialogue with the supplier to discuss the problem. The Material Controller is responsible for making a root cause analysis, take actions and follow-up the recovery plan. If needed escalate to SMCM and according to the escalation ladder.
• Contact with Logistic Services regarding transport deviations; investigate and track late arrivals, missing transports or pallets and arrange extra transport bookings.
• Investigate goods reception discrepancies and make sure that it's being rectified in legacy system and follow local current routine for correction.
• Meet targets/KPIs defined locally. (Inventory,extra transports, production disturbance etc.)
• Consolidate supplier performance and communicate regularly on the performance figures and trends, towards the defined supplier and if necessary towards Purchasing, in order to define action plans needed for improvement.
• Initiating Nii cases for implementing transport setup for new suppliers.
• Investigate blocked invoices by contacting supplier, Volvo Business Service (VBS) and in some cases Purchasing.
• Communicate with supplier,Supplier Quality Improvement (SQI) and Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA) when quality issues appear.
• Replace other Material Controller when absent- and in that case manage two portfolios with same authorities as for own portfolio.
• Keep PipeChain updated with current information on supplier level: contact information, supplier calendars etc. in own portfolio.
• Support new suppliers with education when introduced in PipeChain and secure suppliers proficiency level. Escalate to Super User if needed.
• Follow the charge back routine when claiming a supplier.
Utbildning/erfarenhet
Essential skills and needed experience:
Education: University degree or equivalent in revelent within supply chain and / or Working Experience. Minimum 2 year experience of Material Control LMC/SMC.Minimum 1 year experience within Logistics or Manufacturing
Language skills: Fluent in English, Fluent in Swedish, French, German, Portuguese or Japanese is a merit. Other language skills could also be considered as a merit.
Competence Requirements (to be acquired within the first year as a MC)
• Logistic "key skills"
• Understanding principles and standard practices of Material Control i.e.:
• MRP and standard applications
• Supply Chain Management
• Production scheduling
• Recognize cause and effects throughout the Supply Chain
• Understand basic transportation concepts
• Must be able to make qualified decisions, because of potential financial implications to Volvo Powertrain
• Proficient communicator and networker
• Ability to deal with many open issues at the same time and under pressure
• Ability to take decisions and act for someone else's portfolio when a Material Controller is absent.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Good understanding of cross-functional process work
• Good knowledge of LS operations/ transport flow
• Ability to travel when needed (no restrictions)
