hela Sverige Nynas is offering a challenging thesis projects for a Master's student. The aim is to support and strengthen our ongoing application developments in the CMI group. Main focus of the project is to develop silicone sealant formulation with mineral oil and understand the impact of oil on the key properties of sealants.
Key tasks will include:
• Literature study: identification of main markets and application segments
• Proposal of silicone sealant formulations and mineral oil selection
• Compounding and formulation of silicone sealant samples
• Characterization, performance evaluation and testing: mechanical properties, migration, UV and heat ageing etc.
• Final report
Candidate profile
• Last year M.Sc. student in Chemical Engineering with a minor in polymer chemistry, polymer technology, or equivalent.
• Basic understanding of polymers and polymer processing techniques
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Experience in laboratory work
• Fluency in both Swedish and English
