Software Development Managers' responsibilities towards Agile Teams and Release Train:
• Continuously assists in aligning teams to the business and program mission
• Ensures alignment with organizational guidelines and structures, including technology (e.g. Code Quality, DoD, Architecture, UxD, Test Strategy) and processes (e.g. Agile, SAFe)
• Has subtle control in assignment of individuals to teams. Addresses issues that teams cannot unblock; makes personnel changes where necessary
• Is close enough to the team to add value, be a competent manager and support when required; far away enough to let them problem-solve on their own
• Protects teams from distractions and unrelated or unnecessary work
• Assures effective execution through close cooperation with Product Management, Product Owners, Release Managers, Scrum Masters and Business Owners
• Provides other resources as necessary for teams and programs to successfully execute their planned releases, Vision and Roadmap
Software Development Managers' responsibilities towards individuals:
• Attracts, recruits, and retains capable individuals
• Ensures well-being of employees
• Serves as coach and advisor for personal and competence development
• Evaluates performance (incl. team input), provides input, guidance, and corrective actions
• Participates in defining and administering compensation, benefits, and promotions
• Cascades and clarifies organizational vision, strategy and goals to individuals
• Practices the concept of servant leadership
You have passion for software development and delivering value to customers. You bring with you at least 8 years of management experience in software development organizations, and have knowledge and hands-on experience of Agile and LEAN methodologies. You have experience as a project or program manager, preferably from scaled agile projects or other large-scale projects. You are strong-minded, goal-oriented and challenge the status quo!
