This includes the responsibility for QDCF of all New Product Development, Product Maintenance, and Advanced Engineering activities for Soft Products (excluding Extended Product Offering ? Attachments) within VCE-Technology.
Owns and develops resources and competence for Soft Products Systems and Requirements Engineering and On-Machine Telematics Solutions. Be the primary contact within VCE-Technology to VCE-CST to support CST and Technology Strategic Objectives. Location : Eskilstuna (Preferred), or Shippensburg
Core Responsibilities
Development and execution of Soft Product technology strategies
Together with CST, develop and execute the 8 year Soft Product Technology Area Plans
Lead the VCE On-Machine Telematics Solutions Network supporting all sites and VCE products globally.
Responsible for cost center and Soft Products Portfolio budget maintenance.
Active participation in Steering Committees and Councils as required
Facilitates broad knowledge-sharing across the CST and Technology organizations about Telematics and Soft Product Solutions that enhance the Volvo product experience
Leverage Volvo AB support and solutions into cost-effective Soft Product solutions for VCE Off-Highway Equipment
Develop and drive cooperation on Soft Product initiatives with and between CST and Technology
Drive common soft product offerings across concerned product platforms
Balance / secure right priorities for Soft Products in PP feature portfolio
Positions directly supervised/managed: 0 -15 people

Minimum Education Required and Experience Required
B.Sc Engineering or related field (Masters or PhD preferred)
Formal training in various design methods and systems engineering desirable
10 +/- years experience in product development or closely related area
5 +/- years experience in Electrical/Software/Embedded Systems development preferred
Engineering projects? management experience desirable
Experience leading global teams
Travel up to 30-40%
