hela Sverige You will be part of HVDC within the Power Grids division in Ludvika. The HVDC technology has been on the market for the past 60 years and is used to transmit power over long distances with minimal losses, using overhead lines, underground and submarine cable systems.
The Electrical Valve Design department is a part of ABB HVDC Products in Ludvika and responsible for the electrical design of semiconductor based HVDC and SVC valves. HVDC valves are used to convert AC to DC, and vice versa, and are essential for HVDC power transmissions. SVC valves are used in SVC systems, in order to support and stabilize AC systems. The Electrical Valve Design department has 12 employees and works in close collaboration with our offices in India and China. The department is working about 80 % with technical tender and delivery project work and 20 % with R&D. Please find out more about our world leading technology at
www.abb.com/hvdcWould you like to develop our future HVDC technology? As our Manager for Electrical Valve Design, you will lead our work within electrical design of semiconductor based solutions for AC and DC, used in our HVDC transmissions. A key role with personnel and budget responsibility. As part of your daily tasks, you will coordinate the work within calculations of HVDC and SVC valves, including voltage design, as well as loss and thermal calculations. Joining our unit, also responsible for specifying testings and ensuring execution is according to current standards and customer specifications, you will get a broad role. You will be a member of our Valve Technics board of directors and act as a key player, always putting people first and actively work with your leading role for our department.
You hold a Bachelor?s or Master?s degree in Engineering, with specialization in Electrical Power, Technical Physics or equivalent. Management experience and an understanding in MATLAB, Matchad or PSCAD are highly valuable. As you will be part of a global company, you need to be fluent in English, both written and spoken. Proficiency in Swedish is advantageous.
