But now we want to be even better! We're looking for a passionate Machine Dynamics Specialist to our High Speed Separator department. So, what are you going to do today?
Who you are
Alfa Laval invests in the field of separation technology with increased focus on advanced computer simulation methods like FEM, CFD and Optimization. We are looking for passionate, driven engineering specialists in Machine Dynamics, Solid Mechanics and Fluid Dynamics who can help us to do even better than we do today.
This recruitment is an expansion as we find numerical simulation increasingly important and needed in the daily product development work.
About the jobWith this position, you will become part of the core competence team of Machine Dynamics. The Ma-chine Dynamics team takes an active part in the development of new separators with involvement all the way from concept work and product development to product care and customer support.
The Machine Dynamics team carries out rotor dynamical simulations and specialized vibration testing related to high speed separators. A separator is subjected to different loads during operation. One example is the build-up of unbalances inside the separator. Another example is the sea loads that act on separators that are installed onboard ships. For this reason, critical speeds and eigenmodes are calculated along with the vibration response of the rotor system.
The aim is to achieve desirable dynamical properties that makes it possible to develop well-functioning and safe separators.
In this position it is expected that you will carry out both simulations and experimental work. The analysis of rotor systems is a complex and challenging task that requires insights in many areas, such as applied mechanics, acoustics, mathematics and signal processing.
What you knowWe are looking for a candidate with a university degree in engineering, preferably within the field of Structural Dynamics. It is expected that you have experience and in-depth knowledge in numerical analysis of vibrating systems.
Experience of rotor dynamics or vibration measurements is considered an advantage. Technical under-standing in neighboring fields, such as mechanical design, is also valuable. Besides a strong profile within your specialist field, you should be analytical, have a genuine curiosity and the ability to acquire new knowledge.
As a technology specialist it is expected that you are a good communicator and can be a strong representative and driver of your subject, within our company.
