The position as Logistics Manager consists of two main roles. Commodity Manager for container shipping as a transport mode and Logistic Area Manager for Special Steels for a dedicated geographical area. Placement Oxelösund.
About the position
External Logistics responsibility starts when our steel products are ready for delivery. We are responsible for the global distribution and warehouse set up for Special Steels division in close cooperation with other logistic functions cross divisions and subsidiaries.
Delivery performance, service level and costs are topics high on the agenda for SSAB and follow up of activities is essential.
The position as Logistics Manager consists of two main roles. Commodity manager for container shipping as a transport mode and Logistic Area Manager for Special Steels for a dedicated geographical area.
As Commodity Manager you are responsible for container shipping together with your colleagues in other divisions. You will lead and participate in the setup of strategies and in projects regarding the delivery process. You are an expert in the transport mode by being updated about the development in the line of business, regulations and other directives which may affect our deliveries. You secure capacity, high delivery performance and cost effective transports by purchase and implement solutions with reliable suppliers.
As Area Manager you represent External Logistics to Sales and our customers within your dedicated geographical area. Your role is to develop and continuously challenge existing distribution network within the area to support SSAB?s Business plan and targets. With strong local know-how, you develop solutions and do the procurement of external warehousing services and local distribution.
Your task is to coordinate all this in an international working environment. Travel comes with the job because we strongly believe in a local presence and support to the Sales organisation.
Your qualifications
You have an academic degree, probably within engineering or business administration. Good knowledge within logistics and especially within container shipping. You probably have at least 3-5 years of experience from sea freight chartering and container shipment. You have skills in negotiating and analysis and you will be able to have an advanced dialogue in English, verbally and in writing.
