Klarna is looking for a Legal Counsel with Experience from Banking & Finance to the office in Sweden.
Working tasks
Klarna is in a phase of rapid expansion within existing markets as well as in terms of a broader international outlook. This creates a very exciting and demanding environment and Klarna Legal is no exception ? we therefore seek to strengthen our team with a motivated and business oriented Legal Counsel. You will report directly to the Chief Legal Officer.
Klarna Legal works closely integrated with the business. In this role you will provide legal advice and operate within all aspects of the legal framework, but with focus on legal aspects related to Banking & Finance. Klarna is a credit market company licensed under the Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority and we are now seeking someone who would thrive on investigating international banking laws, advising on matters ranging from a new EU Directive to issues related to bank secrecy or driving the due diligence in connection with new investors. Other examples of tasks you may come across in this role is negotiating, reviewing and drafting various agreements, ensuring congruence with AML requirements or collaborating with relevant authorities. On a daily basis you will find challenges that require creative, practical and secure answers, in the pursuit of which you will be able to use all of your capabilities and analytical skills on a long as well as on a short term basis.

Requirements
You are a business oriented lawyer with experience from qualified legal work, a significant portion of which has been performed in a banking or finance environment. You are skilled within contract law and experienced in working with financial regulations, and if you are also experienced in consumer credit legislation, that will be considered a valuable merit.
You are fluent in Swedish and English and you see yourself as an innovative problem-solver and a team player. Any additional language skills will work to your benefit. Other than that, you have a personal drive and a passion for your career.
