At Volvo Cars Legal, you are part of a global legal team with the task of providing legal advice and support to the business units and other staff functions of Volvo Car Group within essentially all areas of business law. Our objectives are to support Volvo Car Group in achieving its business objectives, to protect corporate interests and to minimize legal risks.
We are now searching for a Legal Counsel who will primarily support the Swedish sales company, Volvo Car Sverige. You will support an engaged business team with the mission to develop Volvo Car Sverige's strong position on the Swedish market. Volvo Car Sverige is responsible for the marketing, sales and distribution of Volvo cars, accessories, spare parts and services on the Swedish market including over 200 Volvo Cars dealers and workshops. You will provide the Volvo Car Sverige organisation, and from time to time, other units within Volvo Car Group, with legal advice, contract drafting and negotiation support in all kinds of commercial legal matters. As a Legal Counsel you will provide legal training and be engaged in developing polices, instructions and guidelines as well as agreement templates and other tools. You will be expected to continuously develop your legal skills and have the possibility to grow as a professional within Volvo Car Group in a challenging and constantly changing international business environment. You will be a member of the Volvo Car Sverige management team.
Main responsibilities
* Provide legal advice and support within all areas of commercial law, including contracts, competition/distribution law and data privacy.
* Handling matters independently in relevant parts of the business organization.
* Support more senior members of the Legal team.
* Provide legal training.
* Engage in development of legal tools, templates and communication material.
Required qualifications
* Master of law (Sw. Jur kand) with grades in the upper tier.
* Minimum 5 years of experience in practising business law at a law firm and/or in-house.
* Specialisation within competition law is meritorious.
* Fluent in English and Swedish (written and spoken).
Personal qualities
* Great communication skills with the ability to engage, influence and convince others.
* Team player with a service-oriented mindset and with integrity, accountability and commitment.
* Ability to take own initiative and solve issues with a "can-do" mindset.
* Translate legal advice to a recommendation helpful for the business organisation.
