The Institute of Health and Care Sciences offers a number of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes for nurses, radiographers, midwives and specialist nurses. The basic training courses for nurses and radiographers lead to a professional degree as well as a bachelor's degree. The training of midwives and the different courses for specialist nurses lead to a professional registration in combination with a master's degree. All professional programmes lead to a professional registration. Moreover, the freestanding courses are offered at an advanced level, offering the possibility to continue studying towards a master's degree in one of the institute's main topics; nursing, reproductive and perinatal health, radiography and health care pedagogics. The institute also offers a postgraduate programme leading to a PhD degree in Health Care Sciences.Subject areaNursingSubject area descriptionNursing science concerns the knowledge about health and a good life despite the presence of illness and/or disability, and the creation of conditions for having a peaceful and dignified death. It is not the illness nor the disability, but people's experiences, interpretations and reactions to the illnesses and diseases that form the focal point.Job assignmentsThe position is based within the section Diagnostics, Acute and Critical Care. The duties consist of planning, teaching, the distribution of summative assessments and evaluations of the education, especially within the specialist nurse programme with a focus on intensive care for nurses. However, the candidate may be required to teach on a first cycle level of the Nursing programme or within other programmes at the Sahlgrenska Academy. It is expected that the candidate will make active efforts towards achieving the Institute's goals, work in accordance with the business plan, which means among other things to actively contribute towards developing the academic environment within the section. In addition, you are expected to participate in planned joint meetings and activities at the Institute. The applicant is expected to teach in Swedish.EligibilityCompleted university education at the least advanced level in Nursing or Care Pedagogy and demonstrated pedagogical skills. Qualification as a registered nurse and qualification as a specialist nurse with a specialisation in intensive care.AssessmentPrimarily pedagogical expertise along with demonstrated quality and breadth of teaching qualifications and current clinical experience from intensive care. Demonstrated ability to collaborate and show flexibility in meetings with groups of teachers and students is of great significance. Administrative skills will also be considered. Good knowledge in Swedish, both spoken and written, as the applicant is expected to teach in Swedish.EmploymentPermanent post, full time, located at The Institute of Health and Care Sciences.
