Subject area description

The subject of nursing develops the knowledge about health and having a good life despite the presence of illness and/or disability. The knowledge about a peaceful and dignified death is another focus area in nursing. In nursing, it is not the illness nor the disability, but people's experiences, interpretations and reactions to the illnesses and diseases that form the focal point.

Job assignments

The position is based within the KTC (Clinical Training Centre) at the Sahlgrenska Academy. The tasks include to plan, teach and conduct summative assessments and evaluate clinical skills as well as simulation-based training and interprofessional learning. Further, coordination of the teaching, materials and purchases will be included. Pedagogical development will also be part of the tasks. Due to the clinical nature of the teaching, part of the tasks will be field-based in order for the employee to remain updated on the clinical parts. Teaching may also be required within the programmes on a first and second cycle level for the nurses and also within other programmes at the Sahlgrenska Academy. The work involves close collaboration with teachers, clinically active supervisors, teaching assistants and other statt at the KTC. Administrative and organisational skills will also be considered, especially any previous experience as a coordinator. Tuition is given in Swedish and in some cases in English. Hence, a good command of Swedish and English in speech and writing is required. It is meritous if the applicant has at least 5 higher education credits from teaching and learning in higher education and previous experience from clinical tuition, up to date clinical skills and/or a current position in the health care sector.
