www.thermoscientific.com/phadiaThe Lean Manager is responsible for enabling Lean maturity within Production Allergy. 20 % of the position is also to support the IDD Lean Director develop the Thermo Fisher Lean Business System within the full site Uppsala.
Responsibilities include training, coaching, mentoring and direct application of lean tools and concepts across all groups within Production Uppsala. The Lean Manager will work with the Production Leadership Teams to achieve significant improvements with a focus on customer allegiance, quality and productivity. This position has a direct responsibility to the Production Leadership Team to assist in defining and executing strategies that leverage the Lean Business System to drive continuous improvement and profitable growth.
Key Responsibilities:
• In conjunction with the leadership team for Production Uppsala and Divisional Lean Business System Director successfully execute the development of Lean within Production Uppsala and within the full site Uppsala.
• Conduct training events in areas such as lean leadership, value stream mapping, Kaizen, waste and variation elimination, material flow, 5S, visual management, lean office etc within site Uppsala
• Work closely with the Divisional Lean Business System Director to identify ways to accelerate culture change and embed the System within IDD
• Provide 'sensei-type' coaching to leadership to develop their lean expertise over time
• Identify best practices within the company, and serve as a conduit for best-practice sharing
• Partner with Finance personnel to evaluate project savings and ensure accurate accounting of Lean productivity
• Facilitate Kaizen events to improve productivity and accelerate growth
• Facilitate Strategic Policy Deployment sessions
• May periodically be assigned specific Lean projects within IDD
Essential Job Functions and Accountabilities:
• Together with the leadership team Production Uppsala set strategic plans to ensure continuously development of the Lean Business System within Production Uppsala.
• Identify needs and develop lean training for all aspects of the business enterprise to further the implementation of the Lean program.
• Assists leadership teams and managers in planning and utilization of facilities, equipment, materials and personnel.
• Process Manager as defined by the Thermofisher Lean Enterprise organization for total Uppsala site
• Provides project management leadership to complete projects assigned to meet specified goals and timelines.
• Identify and drive best practices across the business
• Any other task as requested by Supervisor.
Required Skills and Abilities:
• Strong problem solving / coaching / analytical skills
• Strong Operations / Manufacturing experience
• Strong understanding of Lean principles
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
Your Background:
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, Operations or Business or equivalent experience
• Experience working with Lean systems and principles
• Experienced coaching alignment between strategic business plans and lean improvement plans
• Formal lean training and comprehensive knowledge of lean and continuous improvement methodologies and tools
• Detailed knowledge of quality theory and lean tools and methodologies
• Fluency in Swedish and English
