Thanks to our deep technical, business and customer knowledge, we deliver solutions and services for the salesmen, the mechanics and parts personnel at dealerships and other service points such as Spare Parts Assortment, Parts Information, Diagnostics and Repair Information, Service Planning and supporting systems solutions and tools. In Aftermarket Technology we aim at securing that Volvo Group Truck vehicles can be easily maintained to secure uptime. Aftermarket Technology teams are working close to engineering functions as well as to end customers and are located in Hagerstown, Greensboro, Lyon, Gothenburg, Curitiba, Ageo, Bangalore and Brisbane.
Diagnostic Engineering within Aftermarket Technology is responsible for development and delivery of workshop system support needed within the Volvo Group aftermarket.
Workshop Systems within Diagnostic Engineering is responsible for system development, and the main delivery is the diagnostic tool used by workshop technicians.
Diagnostic Tool is a system used on more than 30 000 clients around the globe in the workshop network. It integrates guided diagnostic/fault tracing, service information and vehicle programming on the Volvo Group products (trucks, excavators & buses).
We are now looking for a Lead Embedded Software Application Engineer to strengthen our team in Gothenburg.
As a Lead Embedded Software Appplication Engineer at Workshop Systems you get the opportunity to work in a fast changing environment in a supportive and committed team both with our current solutions as well as new ones adapting to the future.
We can offer you the opportunity to be involved from the start of a business need for the Volvo Group diagnostic tool, right through the process of realizing the project scope and time plan where you are the link between stakeholders and IT solution providers, securing the best solution for the Volvo Group.
Taking this position, you will belong to a global team, and join colleagues who are sharing the passion for aftermarket. You will have the possibility to develop your network and knowledge within the Volvo Group as you will have possibility to interact with different parts of its organization, such as R&D, IT and the Brands.
Tasks and Responsibilities
• Manage the project according to the project directive, i.e. time plan, scope and budget.
• Responsible for planning, organizing, reporting and following up the project in accordance with the approved processes.
• Include interests from all concerned stakeholders and secure their involvement and buy-in throughout the entire system development.
• Responsible for a good cooperation with the project stakeholders.
• Follow the corporate guidelines, best practices and recommendations.

Profile and Qualifications

You need to be an inspiring leader as well as an active team worker.
• Masters degree in engineering or equivalent
• Experience from working as a project manager
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Fluent English, oral and written
• Good knowledge about Volvo Group's workshops is a merit
• Aftermarket knowledge is a merit
• Knowledge about vehicle electronics and diagnostic protocols is a merit
• Knowledge about agile development methods is a merit (SAFe etc)
