The Project Buyer reports to the Commodity Manager Investments - Region Europe. The successful candidate will possess "out-of-the-box" thinking, strong negotiation skills, ability to build strong supplier and stakeholder relationships as well as working successfully in projects.

We are looking for a candidate who is proactive, independent and innovative with the ability to work in teams as well as individually. She / he must have a high level of integrity and have the ability to easily grasp the holistic view in major and complex investment projects as well as work with details when required.

Your mission

The project buyer will be part of the investments team which has the responsible for all purchasing activities associated with production equipment and property investments for the Volvo Group.

We are now looking for a Project Buyer within the area of Production Equipment investments mainly for our operations in Sweden. However, Investment projects in Europe and overseas might occur.

Main responsibilities
• Drive sourcing activities for investment projects in production equipment according to defined strategies and frameworks
• Lead supplier negotiations
• Shape the supplier base for your area of responsibility in cooperation with segment leaders
• Build and maintain strong business relationships with our suppliers
• (Work in close cooperation with the global segment leaders in order to contribute to the global strategy implementation)
• Lead innovative purchasing solutions based on life cycle cost thinking
• Drive improvements in purchasing processes and stakeholders behavior
• Close monitoring of supplier performance and take corrective actions where needed
• Closely monitor market developments, trends and the best practices available in the market
• Advise stakeholders on procurement issues, providing support and guidance at all stages of the procurement cycle
• Build and maintain strong relationship with internal cross functional stakeholders

Desired Education/Experience:
• Master's degree Engineering and / or Business Administration or equivalent
• Preferably experience of working with production equipment and/or property investments
• Strong background and knowledge about specific terms and different ways of contracting
• Experience in sourcing activities and negotiations for CAPEX related purchases
