Cobolt AB is expanding the R&D department and looking for a skilled Laser Engineer to join our team. Cobolt develops and manufactures, compact high performance lasers for bioinstrumentation, chemical analyses, particle analyses, semiconductor metrology, and gas sensing. The company supplies lasers to the major instrument manufacturers as well as the leading research laboratories world-wide.
We offer
As our Laser Engineer you will have a key position designing and constructing new laser products. The work is done in close collaboration with software, electrical, mechanical, quality and test engineers. The work includes: laser design, proof of concept and assembly of early prototypes. You will also be involved in the transfer process to full production and production support. We search for a person that has experience in advanced designing of diode based lasers like DPSSL and optical beam shaping designs for lasers. You also need to be experienced in assembling prototypes and to practically test your designs and verify the functionality and be driven to work with improvements. Documentation is an important part of the work here and assembly instructions are to be written in English as well as Swedish. At Cobolt we provide challenging tasks within new technologies that gives the possibility to try new methods as well as taking part of skills enhancement. You will be able to control your own work and have the possibility to design and construct new ground-breaking products within our team of excellent engineers.
Job qualifications
We believe that you are a structured person who are used to, and enjoys, working in teams and communicating with others. You have a passion for taking on practical technical challenges with a healthy understanding for delivery on time. We also believe that you have:
• You possess at least an MSc degree in experimental physics, electronics or optics and preferable have a PhD in laser physics, or similar. You need to have good theoretical knowledge in optics and laser physics.
• Experienced in working with laser alignment in the UV, visible and IR region.
• LabView programming or Matlab skills.
• Fluent in English
About us
Cobolt was founded in 2000 and is a spin-off from a research project at KTH. Today we are owned by HÜBNER GmbH, an industrial company with more than 2400 employees at 13 sites worldwide. The R&D department at Cobolt AB consists of eight people working within CAD, laser-, software- and electronic engineering. As an employer, we provide the perfect combination; as we are a well-established dynamic company who are still small enough to offer work in a very close and transparent environment. Our production and development are based here in Solna, with 700m2 of cleanroom for production.
