Background
The School of Science and Technology, MTM Research Centre, is seeking two laboratory technicians in the final work on the UNEP GMP2 project in organic analytical chemistry for a fixed-term appointment
• Laboratory technician for analysis of so-called national samples (mostly food and sediment samples) for per-/polyfluoroalkyl substances and assistance in the data evaluation and report writing;
• Laboratory technician for analysis of water samples for per-/polyfluoroalkyl substances, performance of statistical analysis and report writing. The duties also include supervision of the laboratory work of a MSc student.
Duties and responsibilities
The laboratory technicians will support the analysis of per-/polyfluorinated alkyl substances (PFAS) for samples within the UNEP GMP2 project and other sourres from sample receipt until identification, quantification, and data treatment and interpretation of results. The work includes sample extraction, separation, identification and quantification of the target compounds including necessary QA/QC steps and documentation/interpretation of the results.
Qualifications
The candidate shall have a Master's of Science in Chemistry or equivalent degree and be very familiar with the steps of chemical analysis of perfluoroalkyl substances in environmental and food samples at trace levels using LC/MS-MS methods. For the data treatment, very good knowledge of R is required. Fluency in English is required.

The position is a fixed-term position for six months. The starting date is as soon as possible. The salary depends on the successful candidate's qualifications and experience.
