Do you want to work at Vattenfall this summer? Right now we are looking for a Junior Quantitative Analyst for work during June to September.

Fundamental Risk Analysis (FRCF) is responsible for identifying and assessing fundamental and long-term wholesale price risks and their impact on the energy market and Vattenfall's asset portfolio. This work comprises ad-hoc strategic analyses on senior management's request, calculation of the fair value of the Group Asset Portfolio, reporting of the long-term risk exposure of Vattenfall into the Group Risk Report, independent review of Vattenfall's LTMO, examinations of the asset valuation methods and dispatch models that are used across all BA's for investment/divestment decisions.

Working at Fundamental Risk Analysis you will get a better understanding of how quantitative/modelling skills can be used to address strategically relevant business issues. Because of the fundamental scope of the team and the deep knowledge of your direct colleagues in energy economics, this is an excellent place to get a deep understanding of the European energy landscape and the challenges that come with the energy transition in general and the increasing penetration of Renewable Energy Sources in particular.

Key tasks:
• Working here during this summer you will be responsible for the modelling of specific parts of the our in-house built portfolio model that is used for group asset valuations and strategic analysis.
• You will also be responsible for developing automated validation tools in VBA (Excel).

Your profile and personal skills:
• Academic degree with quantitative focus, e.g. in physics, mathematics, econometrics, or equivalent qualifications and experience. A combined degree with both quantitative and financial modules is an advantage.
• Proficient with VBA and (a pre) Matlab or Python.
• Fluent in English.
• Experience in model development.

Location: Solna.
