Work Description
We are searching for a Junior Scientific Expert for our client, the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) in Solna.
Task:
The person shall be requested to perform various tasks including:
Experience in training, ideally within public health area.
Extensive knowledge of competences of trainers.
Ability to work in multi-cultural environment.
Ideally, it is also considered as advantage that the candidate has the following skills and competences: knowledge and experience in adult learning methodology, experience in curricular design, ability to create high quality training materials, including e-learning and face to face formats.
* Assist with the further development and implementation of surveillance systems in Europe
* Assist with the detection and assessment of emerging threats in the EU-responding to communicable diseases threats
* Assist ECDC experts in providing support to member states in responding to communicable disease threats
* Assist in monitoring and administration of ECDC-funded project
* Contribute to further development of external quality assurance systems and of other microbiological projects
* Support the units in the establishment of closer links between ECDC and national/international bodies, other relevant networks, partners and stakeholders
* Assist in designing and preparing training for Member States experts
* Perform any other tasks as required
* Support the work in the area of hepatitis B/C;
* Contribute to the surveillance of hepatitis at the EU/EEA level;
* Contribute to scientific studies on hepatitis;
* Contribute to other activities as required.
You will get an employment as a consultant with Manpower. The assignment is to start February 1st until May 30th, with possible extension up to one year. The role is for full-time.
Competences and experience
The interim will work in the Public Health Training Section on the area of Learning Methods and as a part of Training Network Strengthening Group shall be requested to perform various tasks including:
Support the Training Programmes in the analysis of training needs
Design and development of curricula and training materials
Evaluation of training activities for public health professionals
Contribute to both face-to-face and e-learning activities, using the ECDC Virtual Academy as a platform tailored for adult learning and contribute to network activities
* Education at university level
* Team working ability is crucial
* Excellent communication skills needed (written and spoken)
* Knowledge of MS Office
* Good sense of accuracy and attention to details
* Strong scientific or social scientific background (university degree in biology, medicine, epidemiology or a related area);
* Knowledge of the field of hepatitis.
* Proven technical expertise in collecting, analysing, interpreting and reporting surveillance data;
* Excellent command of English (written and spoken);
* Ability to work in multi-cultural environment.
