Swedbank IT is located in Sweden, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. We are 1400 employees responsible for running the bank, developing and maintening business strategic and central systems in Swedbank.

All development is managed in projects and we deliver approximately 600 projects and pre-studies during a business year.

Through understanding and acting from the needs of our internal customers, we offer the group competitive IT-solutions which support new products and high level services to our clients.

Welcome to Payments & Deposits, a part of Group Product division within Swedbank IT. Our team of 80 people in Stockholm, Vilnius, Tallinn and Riga is responsible for delivering all Application Development and Maintenance to our internal customer Group Payments & Cash Management.

Assignment specification

As an IT Project Architect, you will create high level design concerning development and integration of IT systems. You will analyze business processes, user needs and Swedbank internal guidelines and transform them into software solutions. Your competence areas will include bank business and IT system interaction analysis as well as project and maintenance support. Efficient communication with IT and business staff will be an important part of your job.

When you are not investigating, analyzing, designing, documenting and reviewing IT solutions, you will be advising Project Managers and other architects in both business and development matters.

Most of all, you are willing to take the challenge and develop your competence and skills within the Payments & Deposit business area.

We believe you have:

Higher education and at least 5 years of experience from developer/designer roles Experience in models, methods and tools within analysis and design Knowledge of IT systems used in the banking and financial sector. Good analytical skills and accuracy Ability to work creatively and think “outside the box” Good communication skills Experience from working with application architecture and integration Fluency in Swedish and English
Our best Project Architects also have:

Business knowledge in Payments & Deposit area Knowledge of Java and/or Cobol Knowledge of integration, SOA, files transfer, messaging and database integration Ability to understand IT implications of business-critical decisions Understanding of *the big picture*
