The main purpose of the IT Business Architect is to provide business value to the business domain and to be a close speaking partner to key stakeholders within the domain for the overall architecture. The Business Architect shall proactively propose innovation and cost efficiency opportunities and provide the full stack architecture vision and guidelines enabling the domain's strategy. Depending on knowledge and interest, we select which domain will be the most suitable.
The IT Business Architect role is a networking and forward-looking role and the link between the business and IT for the architectural area related to IT on a strategic and tactical level for the domain.
Main Tasks & Responsibilities
* proactively work to develop and deliver the right domain architecture
* advisor on architectural challenges related to the domain level
* be extremely tight with key business stakeholders at all times
* closely link Strategy Architects, Solution Architects and our Information/Process architects
* responsible for the tactical layer of the architectural landscape within the domain
* tie together the Enterprise Architecture framework and artefacts from the Strategy Architects with the tactical plans for the domain
* cascade corporate architectural decisions and deliverables to IT Architects, Product Architects, Service Architects and Solution Architects within the domain.
Competence Requirements
* Strong business understanding, being in tune with business and knowing the domain
* Knowing the importance of business strategies and information and how that effects IT
* Ability to apply a holistic view and big thinking, yet able to solve complex architectural challenges
* Leadership skills, be able to act as a leader and take decisions
* Strong communication and presentation skills
Desired work experience
* Seniority in developing Target Architectures in relevant business and IT environments, together with a substantial business acumen related to the domain
* Experience from complex global environments
* Background in managing stakeholders on senior and top management level
Personality profile
* A natural sense for relationship building and able to build the right formal and informal networks
* Team building and team player oriented yet self-driven
* Visionary and motivational, yet persistent, with ability to inspire and influence on a large scale
* Customer oriented in every aspect
