About us
The department of Method and Process Development, Pilot Plant is responsible to introduce and to verify product changes for Volvo HD in Pilot Plant. The organization consists of Intro Operators, Intro Engineers, Process engineers as well as resources within functional testing and software, covering all the technical areas of the truck. Pilot plant is a global arena where the latest production engineering technology should be present. It is a place where GTO learn new technology and where we ensure that we introduce the best trucks in the world!

Description of job:
In Pilot Plant you will work in a creative atmosphere where we will create the next generation assembly concepts with the products and process in focus. Market is changing towards new sustainable products, and we need to be fast and flexible. That's why Pilot plant is very important for us, and it is the place where it happens and where we see the products, processes and technologies for the first time.
We are looking for a person with good knowledge in the Volvo Heavy Duty product as well as the production processes in our plants. You will be located in Tuve and have colleagues at site but also around the world working within Cab trim, Chassis Final Assembly, Software and Electrical.
As an Intro Engineer you will be an important voice for Volvo Heavy duty factories and responsible for central preparation of assembly instructions in the system called SPRINT, time studies as well as the initiation and verifications of new tools & equipment for product projects. We would like you to be positive, open-minded and have the drive to take an E2E perspective. Teamwork and communication with colleges in Pilot plant and around the world is the key. You will also cooperate in multi-site product topics in close cooperation with Production Engineers/Local Technology Specialists as well as Technical Preparation Engineers. Travelling to other sites is part of the job.

We are looking for someone with:
Long experience from production and/or production engineering who is used to systems as e.g. SPRINT, KAP, COS/OM, KOLA, EBD,and ESW tools. If you have a technical background and technical interests in general that is perfect. Since you will be working in a global and multi-cultural environment, great networking abilities and good communication skills are very desirable. Knowledge within truck electrical architecture (TEA2+) and a talent for virtual tools are other qualifications that we are looking for.
