Interaction Designer

At RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT you will be a key contributor to the next generation outstanding luxury cars from Volvo. Together with other engineers over the world, you and your team will create innovative human-centric car technology that makes life less complicated and more enjoyable for people. As INTERACTION DESIGNER within the group Interaction Design Development you will generate and refine user interface related to driver information, infotainment, safety- and convenience functions and connected services. You have a keen interest in customers and their relationship to the car and its features. As the role implicates a broad span of assignments with much freedom, you are self-driven, responsible and have an innovative ability to solve problems. Volvo Cars has the ambition to be the leading car manufacturer within User Experience (UX) and HMI, and we want to reinforce our team with two interaction designers to help us achieve our goals. Job profile:

• Define the interaction- and interface HMI specifications which consist of staggered to the system description
• Develop the HMI specification with consideration to the standard or optional in the car as well as the market penetration
• Initiate and support the development of HMI simulations in the concept phase
• Support the verification team in performing interaction tests
• Initiate the review of proposed interaction solutions with stakeholders
• Perform global market situation analysis

Your profile:

• Bachelor of Science within Technical Design, Interaction Design, Cognitive Science or similar education, and at least a few years working experience
• Documented experience in human-machine interaction
• Good knowledge in interaction design and UX philosophy
• General computer skills and knowledge of MS Visio, Adobe Suite, Photoshop and Illustrator
• Knowledge of Flash-, Qt- & HTML5 simulation is meritorious
• Capacity for logical analysis and problem solving
• Structured and attention to details
• Good knowledge of English (spoken and written)
