hela Sverige The Driver Environment and Human Factors team performs applied research and development, with the primary goals to develop and to ensure a safe, comfortable and efficient relationship between the user and the vehicle system. To do this we have a multidisciplinary staff of employees, skilled in human factors, engineering sciences and design.
We are looking for a person with cognitive and technical skills to strengthen Volvo in the research and development of the future driver environment.
Tasks and responsibilities:
Applied research and development of the driver environment for future Volvo products. For example issues connected to interaction design, usability, and safety for active safety and infotainment systems
Manage advanced engineering projects in collaboration with Volvo colleagues within the Volvo global organization.
Initiate and manage international R&D collaboration projects together with universities, institutes and companies within the area - on a global arena
Background:
A relevant MSc degree in Ergonomics Engineering, Interaction design, Cognitive Sciences, Electrical engineering or similar
A minimum of 3 years? expertise in product development
Project manager experience
Critical Competencies:
Human Factors engineering competence, e.g.:
Human Machine Interface design, development and evaluation (e.g. usability evaluation methods)
Physical ergonomic analysis and simulation
Experimental design and statistical analysis
GUI and HMI prototype development (Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Flash, Qt etc)
And also
Entrepreneurial and innovation skills
Strong technical communications skills including technical writing and presentation
Can work independently but also a good team player
Flexible, can work from giving expert opinions to managing projects in his/her area
Knowledgeable in the commercial transportation Industry
Furthermore, you should be a good representative of the team with the ability to create trust and good relations with colleagues on all organizational levels of the Volvo Group.
You most likely have a genuine interest in the automotive industry and applied technology development, especially in relation to traffic safety and human factors.
