The HS department, belonging to Staff Functions at Vattenfall Group, is responsible for developing and driving the strategic and tactical agenda for Health and Safety in Vattenfall in close cooperation with the different Business Areas. The department also provides qualified strategic and tactical support to the operations within work environment, health/wellbeing and occupational health care. The department consists of a Center of Excellence team, country H&S managers with country teams and medical teams that are providing health services for Vattenfall. The HS Staff Function consists of 33 employees as a whole.
The role as a Health and Safety Project Manager
As our Project Manager for H&S projects you will be leading a currently ongoing project; the H&S Contractor Management project. The project aims to improve health and safety performance for the contractors working for Vattenfall Group. This means getting a common Vattenfall H&S contractor management standard in place and follow-through with implementation across the Vattenfall Group. This work is done in project form and involves many other functions and all business areas. A Steering group is in place for the project.
In general, the position will develop, prepare and align Vattenfall (Group) wide, strategic H&S initiatives, concepts and measures of improvement that add value to the business and contribute to the overall H&S strategy and goals. The role will also support and counsel Staff Function and other Business Areas in H&S matters such as; incorporating initiatives into the BA Business plan, to achieve H&S ambition levels. The position will act as the point of contact of the Vattenfall group in matters involving H&S Contractor Management, which means close cooperation with mainly sustainability and procurement, as well as duties in the H&S reporting area (i.e. CSRD, Annual Sustainability Report, ratings and tender requests).
You will be a member of the H&S Center of Excellence team.
The following tasks may be relevant to you: overall support for the activities within work environment and health, law enforcement, networking, collaboration with safety representatives and union representatives in various forums, provide training on work environment matters.
Qualifications
University degree in a relevant field
Extensive experience, at least 7-10 years, of operational safety management and Health & Safety matters
Proven experience as a project leader
Experience from supply chain management/procurement/contractor management is beneficial
Strong communication skills and fluency in English, language skills in Swedish and/or German and/or Dutch are a plus
We are looking for a person that feels comfortable in their role as a Health & Safety Project Manager and their stakeholder management abilities. To thrive in this position, you need to have a structured way of working and be a good administrator with solid IT competence, as you will work independently with several tasks in parallel. You are result-oriented and strive to reach your goals. You are solution-focused, self-motivated, driven and have good collaboration skills. Besides this, we value your ability to handle and drive initiatives/change in matrixed organizations.
Location: Solna, Stockholm in Sweden is the preferred location but Germany (Berlin) or Netherlands (Amsterdam) are a possibility.
