Position: Head of Marketing, VP
Arla Foods is an international cooperative based in Denmark and the largest producer of dairy products in Scandinavia. Arla Foods is the 4th largest dairy company in the world measured by milk intake and the 7th largest by turnover. We are also the world's largest organic dairy producer.
After a number of years driving added value through our milk and building the Arla brand via a number of key categories and channels, our strategy for 2026 focuses on enhancing our business based on driving sustainability, focusing on our strongholds and leveraging the scale of the Arla brand via a centralized Eurozone team and execution in the markets.
Area of responsibility
Lead the end-to-end Arla branded and own/private label marketing agenda and overall category strategies for the local country.
Drive Arla's Future 2026 global strategy by amplifying the key strategic changes on sustainability, Strongholds and the Arla Brand, working with key global and European stakeholders to deliver a relevant local iteration. The sum of the country marketing heads plus Eurozone Heads of Arla Brand and the Europe Categories will drive the shared ownership of the European strategy and work plan.
Lead the local customer innovation marketing agenda for the market
Accountability for the country marketing budget and resources - allocating resources based on the alignment to the strategic direction
Lead and drive the performance of local marketeers ensuring adoption of the newest ways of working
Lead and integrate the digital agenda and community, driving functional capability and the evolution to a digitally-led marketing operating model
Drive the wider, cross-functional geographic agenda as an integral member of the Country Leadership Team and be a figurehead for the function and the country agenda representing Arla in external engagements and communications.

STRATEGY & MARKETING
Own the end-to-end development and delivery of the local marketing strategy to define how Arla Foods will unlock business insight to deliver growth for Arla
Collaborate and contract with key stakeholders to align on strategy, funding and plans
Ensure the overall Milk, Yogurt and BSM/Cheese/Cooking/MBB category strategies are stretching, realistic and cover the end-to-end considerations of brand and OL

P&L OWNERSHIP
Own the delivery of the market P&L across brands and own label - constantly seeking to strengthen through profit improvements initiatives across all areas e.g. pricing, supply chain etc., and initiates corrective actions, incl. short term, when needed
Manage the full cost base of the marketing function in-country

BRAND AND MARKETING EXECUTION
Support and execute the strongholds and Arla Brands, reinforcing sustainability in the local market
The proposition - e.g., farm standards on branding and cartons etc.
Communications/consumer marketing - interfacing with MarComms
Monetize - support commercial to drive value through the branded agenda
Create a consumer-driven and insightful business in touch with consumers' and customers' needs through world-class tools and external focus
Ensure the whole team are working in full alignment with Arla Eurozone categories
Drive and role model the digital transformation, leading on the future of digital marketing

INNOVATION
Responsible for category strategy and relevant innovation pipelines that optimize total market innovation (both retail and Foodservice innovation)
Drives the creation and deliver the +3-year innovation strategy aligned with the category and relevant brand strategy that supports the ambitions of the overall category. Working closely with concept developers and product/pack development team

ANNUAL PLANNING
Owns and drives the annual business planning process for the category
Creates and delivers customer engagement sessions
Lead the creation of strong consumer/category insight-led shopper activation platforms

CORPORATE AFFAIRS, REGULATORY, QUALITY
Able to build a network and relationships in order to serve the business purpose
Ensure company compliance, processes and procedures are in place, understood and adopted

PEOPLE
Build a strong and winning marketing team, engendering trust and empowerment
Drive engagement in the teams using the global people agenda as a basis of activities
Develop teams that are capable for the future in both functional and personal competence, Actively scout for and sponsor talent - both in-country and within the wider Arla network as well as externally

Experience & Competencies
Functional competencies:
Leading-edge in Category Development, Brand strategy, Category and Brandplanning and performance management
Digital capabilities: leading insights in digital marketing innovation and trends as well as data management. Ability to drive automation and efficiencies
Sustainability: up to date and relevant knowledge on key trends and developments and how to translate these into commercial propositions
Marketing skills: know how to lead a Masterbrand and able to translate this to local needs
Business and financial acumen with strategic and creative thinking and problem-solving skills.
Results-driven with proven track record.
Ability to create and develop a highly motivated and skilled team that has a big drive to deliver, is able to learn and adapt and is fully engaged with the purpose of Arla Foods.
