hela Sverige The outbound Logistics function is to ensure a global strategic approach on outbound logistics by integrating strategy, network design, procurement, performance management and operational development to ensure that factory complete cars are delivered to dealers on time at minimum cost and according to specifications in line with market requirements and Volvo Car Corporation (VCC) strategy.
The role, Head of Logistics IT Systems Support, is located within the Performance Management and Operational Development function within the Outbound Logistics organization and will report directly to the Head of Performance management and Operational development.
Purpose:
The purpose of the Head of Logistics IT Systems Support role is to ensure availability of system support for the current and future Outbound Logistics business processes. The role will have a clear ownership of VCC's TMS system with good insights and overview of the system, securing functionality and system adherence to the overall Outbound Logistics strategy and business model. The role will also work strategically with IT process development to ensure ongoing and improved business support.
Main Tasks:
Main tasks for the Head of Logistics IT Systems Support is to identify, initiate, plan, prioritize, coordinate and drive activities related to IT system development within Outbound Logistics:
Develop and maintain an effective IT strategy in close cooperation with Logistics strategy and VCC IT, supporting the overall strategic direction for Outbound Logistics
Identify IT system improvements to increase efficiency within Outbound Logistics, including related cost/benefit and ROI analysis according to VCC procedures
Translate business requirements from internal and external stakeholders to IT solutions
Set specifications and requirements in conjunction to procurement of IT consulting services and IT systems related to Outbound Logistics
Pro-actively suggest system and process improvements to the business
Gather input from internal and external stakeholders on potential IT related improvements
Manage technical and commercial relations to IT providers in close cooperation with Purchasing and VCC IT
Act as interface for IT related topics between Logistics Service Providers and VCC, both in the tendering process and in operating activities
Project manage implementations of new IT systems and integration of suppliers together with VCC IT and/or external providers
Ensure availability of logistics information to allow the business to evaluate carriers, transportation spend, lead-times and staff productivity
Manage application lifecycles for relevant IT systems
Initiate and drive system upgrade processes and business benefit
Provide support and conduct trainings related to the TMS system for relevant personnel (Super User role)
