We are now recruiting for the position as Head of Legal for Sales Region International at Volvo CE. The Region International team is responsible for construction equipment sales, uptime and parts sales, productivity and retail development in four different market areas - Africa, Oceania, CIS, Middle East, Turkey and Cuba. As Head of Legal for Sales Region International you will be a member of Region International Management team, which is an effective and passionate team that is stronger than the sum of its parts, ready to grasp opportunities and work towards demanding goals in a true cross-functional and collaborative approach to achieve customer success. You will also be a member of the Volvo CE Legal & Compliance team, comprising highly engaged and skilled lawyers and administrative colleagues providing legal support to all parts of the Volvo CE organization in a truly global environment, embedded in the business flow. You would report to the Head of Legal & Compliance.
What are the responsibilities?
• Handle all legal matters for Sales Region International, by providing timely and effective legal advice.
• Manage Region International's legal and compliance risks and protect our legal rights, primarily related to sales-, distribution- and compliance matters; including anti-corruption, antitrust, export control and data privacy.
• Effectively communicate with the Region International Management team, and other colleagues as relevant, regarding the Region's legal risks and legal rights, including providing relevant legal training.
• Provide legal support in drafting and negotiating contracts for sales and marketing of products and services, customer financing structures, acquisitions & divestments among others.
• Support in ensuring implementation of the Volvo Group's Compliance program, including to provide compliance trainings and provide support as needed in handling of whistleblower investigations relating to Region International.
• Engage and manage Region International's relationships with outside legal service providers.
• Interact closely with all relevant stakeholders, in-and outside of Region International, including with relevant Volvo Group communities outside of Volvo CE.
What do you need to be successful in this role?
• A university degree in law with at least 10 years' experience from a law firm or as in-house legal counsel or equivalent experience is required.
• Experience from the legal field of distribution and also from Compliance is of importance.
• You need good analytical skills and problem-solving capabilities and excellent ability to apply legal as well as business and financial aspects in providing legal advice.
• Professionalism, good judgement and high integrity are key competencies, which need to be combined with strong critical thinking and a true business interest and understanding.
• Excellent skills in effectively communicating both verbally and in writing, in English, to a diverse audience is important as well as strong ability to build relationships.
• We think that you are a proactive self-starter, comfortable operating autonomously but also a true team player.
• We further think that a curious mind-set and a willingness to drive change and continuous improvements are important to succeed in this role.
