Our department focus is to provide service to the Volvo Group with Insurance Programs primarily in the non-life insurance sector. This is assured through the use of the in-house captive company, Volvo Group Insurance (VGI). VGI is today one of Sweden's largest captive programs with premiums earned of 250 MSEK.
About Volvo Group Insurance
At Volvo Group Insurance our key responsibility is to purchase and administer the Groups world-wide Insurance programs, which in short means terms, condition and prices are negotiated centrally. Additionally, various systems and methods are used for premium allocation/invoicing dependent the type of risks. The claims handling process is another important task for the function, in order to serve the Group. Volvo Group Insurance also has the responsibility to operate the Groups state-of-the-art in-house Captive Insurance / Reinsurance program, which is designed to reduce cost for the Group. Close co-operation with other departments within the Group is a natural part of daily work. We are a small team consisting of four team members.
The following insurance programs are handled through Group Insurance:
Property damage
Business interruption
General and product liability
Business travel
Marin Cargo
Terrorism
Environmental impairment liability insurance
Financial lines
Head of Group Insurance's main responsibilities
You will be responsible to assure that the Group at all times are carrying the optimal insurance cover at the optimal cost. Natural contributions are "business intelligence" in the insurance area, assuring that best practice is shared within the Group, and develop the Groups insurance programs over time as the Group is changing and developing.
Other areas of responsibility include:
Procurement of the insurance programs for the Group
Assure the quality of administrative procedures relating to premiums, policies and guidelines within the Group
Develop, in close cooperation with local and global partners, new offerings and business models, agree on and implement common tools/templates/contracts to ensure execution and control according to policies and guidelines within the Group
Assure continuous improvements to remain relevant as a business partner, and earn our place at the table
You will also be the Managing Director for the Groups insurance captive, Volvo Group Insurance Försäkrings AB, including the responsibilities and duties that this role entails, inter alia a solid knowledge of accounting and compliance rules applicable for a captive as well as the captive 's re-insurance protection.
Your responsibilities will include areas such as overall responsibility for the department and the team development.
Who are we looking for?
To be successful in this position, you need a broad and deep knowledge of insurance, both from a business and regulatory perspective and possess a highly developed ability to work within a large international group. You have extensive experience from management positions in an international environment, are self-motivated and a strong team-player with an independent mind and ability to inspire your team to excel.
Your analytical skills combined with a strong target orientation and networking ensures that you have a relevant and strong network in the industry. You are accustomed to handle legal and regulatory matters, and have developed a strong capability to communicate and enable your direct reports to grow as individuals and team.
Your daily work will contain a large share of international contacts, thus English is spoken and written fluently.
As a person, you are business-minded and a customer oriented leader. Structured, detail-oriented, analytical with a strong capability to develop and foresee future possibilities and business opportunities are other key characteristics. Others see you as a self-starter with a proactive mindset.
