We're looking for a Global Compliance Officer to join us at Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions (SMR) - a person with high integrity and a passion for doing business in an ethical and sustainable way!
This is a unique opportunity to join our Legal and Compliance function, who plays a central part in our business strategy and covers the full suite of Sandvik compliance program which consist of Data Privacy, Anti-Bribery and Corruption, Competition, Third Party Management and our Speak Up program. We need a person who is eager to create awareness and actively promote the importance of the ethical way of conducting business, ready to support us with both strategic initiatives and hands-on activities, ensuring the development of a solid compliance culture and robust processes throughout our organization.
About the Business Area
SMR is a business area within the Sandvik Group and a global leading supplier of equipment and tools, parts, service, digital solutions and sustainability-driving technologies for the mining and construction industries. Application areas include rock drilling, rock cutting, loading and hauling, tunneling and quarrying. In 2022, sales were approximately 57 billion SEK with about 16,200 employees.
Your mission
In this key role, your focus lies on Anti-Bribery and Corruption, our Speak Up program and Third-Party Management. You support our global SMR organization with expertise and advice in compliance matters. You're on a common mission of ensuring a high level of compliance with laws, regulations, internal policies, and procedures, and implementing monitoring frameworks for identifying, reporting, and mitigating compliance risks. As we have a strong growth agenda, you also support the business in compliance related M&A activities.
By connecting our Group compliance programs to our Business Area operations in an easy and understandable way, you make it a natural part of our day-to-day business and relevant business processes - you work actively to support the business and to create a strong awareness of the importance of compliance. Through clear communication, training, and support, you help us solve compliance matters and implementation of compliance requirements making sure that we manage both risks and opportunities across our divisions and sales areas effectively.
You report directly to the Business Area Compliance Director. The location for this role is preferably in Stockholm, but other locations can be considered. We're offering a hybrid work setup, and this role entails occasional trips between various SMR locations globally.
Your character
We need a person with a relevant university degree - such as Law, Business Administration, or Finance - combined with strong compliance experience in Anti-Bribery and Corruption. You have experience of driving governance, audits, risk management and operations, preferably within a larger, global organization. Implementing and executing compliance programs and business processes, assessing risks, driving projects and change, guiding management and organizations are part of your previous career. Doing business in all corners of the world requires cultural awareness and excellent communication skills in English. Knowledge of other languages, including Swedish, is a plus.
Mixing a holistic approach with analyzing details, and critically evaluating the risks and rewards for the business and organization is essential. With solid and open communication skills you easily build trust and develop global networks and successful collaborations across borders, and you master stakeholder management. Other words to describe you are decisive, persistent, organized, self-driven, and a fast learner - excellent features to become successful in this role!
