At Volvo Cars, we have an Agile Organization where we develop our product features and functions continuously in Product Streams with a complete lifecycle responsibility. The three Product Streams within the unit Vehicle Software&Electronics are:
* In-Car Digital - Infotainment, Digital User Experience, Connectivity
* Base Software - Electrical and Electronics Systems
* Autonomous Drive - Active Safety and autonomous drive functions
Function Analysis Engineer - Active Safety
Main Responsibilities of the Department
Active Safety is an area where Volvo, through continuous launching of new, innovative, and world first safety features, has positioned itself among the leaders of the automotive industry. Now the work continues to reach our ambitious vision that by 2020 no one should be killed or seriously injured in a new Volvo. Within the department, we develop systems such as Collision Avoidance, Autonomous Drive, Automatic Parking, Driver Support and Protective Safety.
The group Active Safety Functions Analysis and Verification is responsible for function verification of the customer functions related to Full Autonomous Driving and Active Safety functions. This includes functionalities such as Collision Avoidance, Lane Keeping Aid, Rear Collision Warning, Pilot Assist, Traffic Sign Information and Semi-Automatic Parking. The group also play a vital role in the work towards fully autonomous driving vehicles in the Drive Me project, an area of fast development using new technology, which put high demands on comprehensive and efficient verification processes.
We are looking for driven Function Analysis Engineers who wants to be a part of the verification of active safety functions. You will be using virtual test environments and perform complete function verification in vehicles. You will perform attribute verification/quality assurance, safety verification and rating performance verification.
Your daily work will be in your development & verification team where you will perform test and verification in virtual and physical environments. You are also expected to cooperate with other teams and project management in current and future research projects to develop and design new test methods, test objects, automated tests and execute the verification needed for quality products with world-class technology. In other words, you are going to be part of the future innovations of Active Safety technology.
Who are you?
You are a technical-minded team player with strong analytical and problem solving skills. You are structured and organized in daily work, good at both documenting your work as well as communicating with different people. Along with a positive attitude you are also reliable, self-driven, innovative and finding ways of motivating yourself.
Requirements:
M.Sc. or B.Sc degree within Electrical engineering, Automation, Applied Physics or equivalent experience
Fluent in English (written and spoken)
Driving license and driving experience
Experiences:
Development or test and verification, and analysis of embedded functions
Matlab programming and Simulink
Knowledge of tools and concepts within the automotive industry such as: CANalyzer, CAN and FlexRay

Location for this position is within Gothenburg, Sweden from where we expect you are able to work with adequate working permits. Working proficiency in the English language, speech and writing, is a requirement. Combined with the same skills in the Swedish language is considered a merit.
