Your tasks will consist of training laboratory technicians at the University of Rwanda regarding:
Lab equipment management, special equipment maintenance, lab wastes management, lab quality control management, control processes, how to develop a quality control plan for a laboratory test, measuring levels of pollutants in a lab and how to monitor compliance with environmental regulations, bio-risk management, benchmarking with ISO protocols, occupational health and safety requirements, animal/plant management in biomedical laboratories, lab human resources management, lab financial and procurement procedures.
Special skills training areas are: PCR-both conventional and quantitative (qPCR) and agarose gel electrophoresis and next generation sequencing.
Your future workplace
You will work at University of Rwanda, Kigali. The working language will be english.

To be qualified for this appoitment the applicant must have at least a bachelor 's degree in chemistry, physics or similar field. You should have experience of working in lab and of training lab technicians. You must have good knowledge within the specific areas of competence that are included in the tasks as described in this announcement. Since the work is done in English, you must have very good knowledge in English bout verbally and in writing.
Form of employment
This is a temporary employment. The work is a total of 4 weeks and involves 2 week preparation and 2 weeks at University of Rwanda.
Starting date
This assignment must be completed before June 30, 2019.
