The role of the Finance Director Sweden is to drive and influence business decisions aligned to the BMI strategy and understand the implications of the decisions in the short, medium, and longer term. The role is a key management position within Finance and is responsible for providing forward-looking, strategic, knowledge-based insight to influence key business decisions and enabling value creation and problem solving by understanding, partnering with, and challenging the business, to ensure they are trusted advisors for business leaders.
Other responsibilities will include:
Consult with Product and other business leaders to drive and influence strategic decision-making within a broad scope (e.g., long-term business planning, product analysis and development, internal cost management, balancing risk, pricing etc.)
Challenge the status quo, bringing solutions for improvements and efficiencies Strengthen supply chain performance by providing a deep understanding of standard cost development, optimizing working capital and championing integrated business planning
Act as a trusted and accessible point of contact to Product and other business leaders by driving commercial and financial decisions, and bringing challenge and insight into product profitability to drive future performance and product innovation
Act as a trusted and valued finance business partner, providing commercial and financial leadership and challenge the profitability and productivity of the business in order to drive an improved performance and strengthen the Go To Market Engine
Understand and drive the value drivers of the business and provide insight into product performance including ROI, KPI analysis and benchmarking throughout the product lifecycle
Provide insight into customer and market trends including benchmarking, ROI and KPI analysis (e.g. renewal and conversion rates, deal sizes & volumes, growth opportunities)
Complete financial analysis, exercising a strong understanding of the business to determine the best method for achieving strategic objectives
Perform analysis and prepare commentary on local financial performance
Interpret complex information (financial data, relevant financial legislation, financial policies etc.) to determine the impact of financial decisions and effectively translate to business leaders
Provide financial support during the monthly forecasting and annual budgeting process ensuring the business can meet its targets in an optimal way
Drive the product portfolio strategy through market, competitor, and product portfolio analysis; and inform market entry and exit decisions
Drive cost optimization projects through profitability analysis and efficiency solutions -challenge the business to be more efficient
Provide challenge and decision support for product development
Support implementation of business-wide programs and products
Lead the provision of regular timely financial information prepared by the Centre of Excellence, to enable business leaders to understand business performance, taking action where necessary to improve performance going forward and in order to meet financial commitments
Collaborate with the Product and Go To Market Finance Business Partnering team and Decision Support team in the Centre of Excellence as required
Champion working as part of a virtual team with the business, Centre of Excellence and Shared Service Centre to embed and sustain the Finance Operating Model
Provide financial leadership during business meetings and quarterly reviews
This is what you bring
First level university degree with a focus in business or economics; advanced degree and/or accounting certification (e.g., CPA, MBA) strongly preferred. Typically, 8+ years of experience in a Finance function or exhibiting an exceptionally strong background in some other relevant and applicable area of business.
In addition to this, we believe that you have:
Good understanding of accounting principles and financial analysis
Broad understanding of relevant finance legislation and regulations
Ability to understand, interpret and present complex financial data
Ability to use profitability analysis techniques to deliver insight and make recommendations
Commercially minded and product focused, as well as demonstrable experience of understanding relationships between key financial and non-financial business value drivers
Track record of collaborating with business leaders in a complex business environment
Evidence of ability to challenge, influence, listen to and resolve conflicts with key decision makers
Evidence of building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders acting as a trusted business advisor
Translate business requirements into open, honest, and transparent insight to solve business challenges
