At Ericsson Packet Core, we are transforming our portfolio to cloud based deployments. In this transformation, we are market leading! Are you our new technical lead to head the transformation and secure our continuous technology leadership within Telecommunication Core products?
We use Cloud Native technologies and tools to develop our 4G and 5G products on a container based micro-service architecture.
Cloud native design principles are applicable for network applications but need to be adapted for Telco grade performance and reliability. We call this cloud optimized network applications. As a holder of this position you shall provide knowledge, analysis and solutions to deliver outstanding customer value with cloud optimized Packet Core deployments. You will be the main driver for the advancement of cloud technology within Packet Core!
RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:
Drive our offerings so that they take advantage of Cloud Native technologies. This means ensuring technology leadership by setting the blueprint for Telco Cloud Native applications, both internally and towards our customers, through meetings, seminars, reports and white papers. You shall investigate and seek the best solutions for maintaining Telco grade for our cloud based portfolio.
You will maintain and build own competence by learning how applications, solutions and deployments are best making use of the new technology. You will study both how Webscale applications do this today, as well as learning the best way forward for our applications. You are encouraged to spread your knowledge within the organization through engaging meetings, courses and seminars.
This role will be impactful as an innovator; innovating and patenting the new technical solutions needed to deliver the best products for cloud deployments.
Since Ericsson has a full system portfolio for the whole mobile communication, including full cloud stack offerings, you will coordinate solutions and technology with other parts of Ericsson. It will also be vital to keep an external network to be able to drive our Cloud Native Packet Core solution within the industry and to our customers and promote needed technology choices and evolution.
NEEDED COMPETENCES AND EXPERIENCE:
Long (7-10 years) experience from development of cloud based applications
Excellent knowledge of cloud based technologies
Competence within telecom core applications
Experience of open source communities engaged in cloud technology
Experience from customer engagements and customer interaction
Experience from driving technology leading projects within the area
Excellent people networking skills
Excellent presentation and teaching skills
Innovation experience, including patents
Understanding of how business and technology perspectives work together

IT IS MERITING IF YOU ALSO HAVE
Competence of Packet Core application
Experience from webscale companies and applications
Experience from CNCF projects and competence in CNCF applications
Being a pioneer in applying cloud native technologies to telco application development
