www.stericsson.comThe scope of the unit "Base Band Reference Design" is to develop and deliver Access Platform Reference designs including HW, SW and support. The department is involved in all stages from specifying next generation solutions, through integration and verification to customization and support. The reference designs and the customer projects are actual implementations of the ST Ericsson 3G and LTE platforms in various kinds of access products.
Job description
We are looking for experienced Baseband HW Design Engineers that will work in our future projects. In these positions you will be part of a team developing Base Band Reference Designs for mobile communications from early product requirements to customer deliveries and support.
This includes system requirements analysis, writing detailed design specifications, schematics and PCB layout design and complete verification of the reference designs.
The end phase of the projects gives the opportunity to face the customer and provide support when they are implementing their end products based on our reference design.
We expect you to have a broad technical knowledge of the building blocks in the Base Band area and follow the development in new mobile communication systems and devices in order to understand the consequence for the Base Band hardware. We expect you to be experienced in the use of various simulation tools to perform calculations & simulations of system and sub-block performance.
As we have development sites globally we appreciate experience from cross-site co-operations.
We expect you to be result oriented and with the customer in focus. The position implies personal responsibility for work methods and completion of tasks and is focused towards hardware design for existing and future Access platforms. We are also interested in capability in driving trouble shoot activities, system integration activities in small teams depending on personal skills and interest.
Competence requirements:
• M.Sc. EE or similar education/experience with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
• Broad technical knowledge of the building blocks in the Base Band HW Reference Design area.
• Experienced in the use of various simulation tools.
• Knowledge of measurement techniques and lab automation.
• Ability to lead and perform trouble-shoot activities.
• Interest in at least one specialist area. (RF, Power Mgt, memory, interfaces etc...)
• Communication and co-operation skills.
• Strong focus on results including customer focus and an interest in exploring new areas.
• Fluent in English (spoken and written).
