The group Facilities, Tooling & Equipment Paint shop VCT is a part of the department Manufacturing Engineering Paint who is responsible for the implementation of process related equipment's for our plants in all car project phases as well as in running production. The group is responsible for all process equipment implementation for new car projects and running production in the Paint shop at Volvo Cars Torslanda. Our vision is flawless launches in all projects and optimal prerequisites for Production and Maintenance in running production at a competitive cost. We deliver investigations, cost calculations and installations for all type of equipment's from small PLC functions to complete lines.
As Equipment Engineer you work with process equipment procurement and implementation and as a participant or leader of a project team. You will be responsible for planning of technical and cost related aspects connected to the complete project or part of a project. You will also contribute to the development of standards, concepts and work processes. Cooperation with as well as support to other Volvo Car Group plants is a part of the job. The work is a mix of theory and practice that challenges your technical skills as well as your ability to keep track on all ongoing tasks, work according to tough timetables and cross functional cooperation. You will build a big network internally as well as externally.
Main responsibilities
• Plan and implement equipment and technique related to car projects
• Equipment design to secure flawless launches
• Close contact with suppliers to secure competitive cost and optimal prerequisites for Production and Maintenance
Required qualifications
• University degree in Mechatronic or Automation engineering or equivalent experience
• Solid experience of industrial automation
• Experience in the way of working in project environment
• Fluent in oral and written Swedish and English
• Experience from mass production
• Good skills in PC (MS applications)
• Driver's license
