The position reports to the Manager of Technical Support, WG-PT
About your role:
The Environmental specialist will implement and follow-up on permit requirements and monitoring programs of Wind Farms in Sweden. Monitoring programs will be conducted and reported in the way agreed with authorities. Via an effective and harmonized communication it is secured that sites operate in accordance with permits and consents. Through a structured and systematic approach the environmental and other essential sustainability aspects are taken into account.
Your responsibilities:
• Follow-up on compliance of permit(s) for each site in Sweden, including visiting sites for checkups.
• Conduct monitoring programs and reporting to authorities,
• Dialogue and meetings with authorities and responding on questions or demands. Potentially liaise with other stakeholders as well regarding environmental issues.
• Internal environmental reporting within Vattenfall.
• Manage and further develop systematic way of working with environmental questions, e.g. management system or self-monitoring.
• Cooperation and alignment with Environmental colleagues in the team and other BUs and staff function. In Sweden as well as abroad.
• Manage complaints and environmental incidents including preventive actions.
• Analyzing trends and monitoring of legislation, e.g. change in legislation, standards, court cases, research and development.
• Provide input and assist development in new projects
• A member of the BA Wind audit team conducting system and supplier audits
• Facilitate external audit within department and work with result.
Your profile:
• Degree in a relevant environmental discipline and significant relevant work experience.
• Trained and certified ISO 14001 auditor will be seen as an advantage.
• Experience in the renewables industry and dealing with SE regulatory bodies.
• Project and budget management skills (meet deadlines and prioritize tasks).
• Understanding of EIA process and planning regimes and experience managing post. construction environmental monitoring programmes, including dialogue with regulators.
• Knowledge of the Wind and/or Offshore industry and familiarity with the Environmental management system is a preference.
• The right candidate must possess the ability to think outside the box and develop proactive actions / ways of working within the environmental / permit area.
• Although this position is related to the Swedish part of the Vattenfall wind portfolio, internal reporting is to be conducted in English. Hence mastering of the English language is essential.
Location: Flexible in Sweden
