Job Description

Are you passionate about data and modern technology? Are you a fan of exploring new solutions from discovery to large scale implementation? We are looking for an Engineering Manager to a team at the heart of our fashion design and product development process, where we design and construct fantastic garments for all H&M Group brands.
We are at the beginning of building a new tech landscape where our product data is a key enabler for creating meaningful growth. Our PLM Data Team is just starting up and we are now looking for an Engineering Manager with a strong technical background and cloud experience to support, empower and build the team in their journey from exploration to full scale implementation. Rapid technological development and new customer behaviors are transforming the fashion retail industry, and we are therefore delighted to find an Engineering Manager to one of our teams at H&M Group, Business Tech.
Responsibilities
As Engineering Manager, you will work in an amazing team with architects and developers to make sure that we empower our organization with the right data solutions in every step of the product development cycle, including AI and ML. We build our event driven solutions in GCP with APIs to connect to our surrounding landscape. We explore modern technology such as Google Pub/Sub, Cloud Run, Kubernetes Engine, and databases such as Firestore, Bigquery for both auto-scale transactional and analytical use cases, and more, aiming for a modern highly decoupled architecture with a DevSecOps mindset from the beginning. The product team works closely with a broad network of many other product teams to collaborate and deliver the best solutions for our company. The product team has end to end responsibility of the solutions: from ideation through to operation. It is part of and reports to the PLM Tech Platform team. You will also:
Lead and build a technical cross-functional team of engineers with a business value mindset to execute and deliver value together with other product teams
Ensure team skills & competence & setup is mapped against tactical and strategic roadmap
Drive excellent tech solutions for your product and ensure tech is an accelerator
Define MVPs, manage product backlog priorities, and strategically de-scope to achieve rapid feedback cycles
Align with other Product Owners to ensure backlog, roadmap and dependencies to other products are maintained
Monitor and manage financial impact of decisions and priorities of the product team
Prioritized roadmap and team backlog that align with overall roadmaps and dependencies.

Who you are

We also believe you are driven and analytical. Furthermore, we believe you have:
Experience in Application engineering, Integrations Engineering, System Responsible role or similar, for technical teams building custom development solutions
A structured and pragmatic approach to setting and communicating priorities in a dynamic environment
Knowledge and experience of leading teams building cloud solutions with a full DevOps perspective
Knowledge and experience from leading teams with responsibility for building and maintaining modern data platform solutions
Experience in leading teams in tech development with many dependencies and uncertainties
Experience in product mission, OKR creation, roadmap development & management
Knowledge and experience of agile methods and frameworks such as Scrum, Kanban, SAFe.

It is also beneficial if you have:
Experience from working as an Engineering Manager (or similar) with staff responsibility
Experience from Product Lifecycle Management or other core processes in Retail
Worked with tools such as JIRA and Confluence
Software architecture and/or developer experience
GCP certificates
Multi-cloud environment skill set
On-prem application knowledge
