As Software Developer, you will play a key role in our team responsible for the software platform for the robots' control system. This is a varied and exciting role where your responsibility will include everything from software design and implementation to work in our lab environment. Functional area
You will be part of Robotics in Västerås. Robotics develops, manufactures and markets robots and associated control systems, software, arc welding products, tracks and motor packages. We have bases in Västerås, Jönköping and the Gothenburg area in Sweden. Over 90% of our production goes to export and our customers include all major auto manufacturers. The auto industry and its sub suppliers and to an increasing extent general industry, such as the food industry, are automating their production with robots. Welding, machine tending, materials management, grinding, packaging and assembly are the most common applications. Our robots and robotics are sold via local ABB companies and via independent systems integrators and OEM companies - companies we call our Partners.
Your profile
To thrive in this position, you need to be a reliable team player who easily inspire your team and contribute to our future success. You contribute with a systematic mindset and enjoy working in a position providing you the chance to take initiatives.
You hold a Master's degree in Engineering, preferably with specialization in Real Time Systems and Industrial Software Development or equivalent. Currently, you likely work as a software development engineer within Telecom, the automotive or automation industry. Solid knowledge in embedded software development is required. As is a passion for network based protocols and services, hardware near software development, real time operating systems, parallelization, data communication and industrial fieldbuses. Skills in software development, mainly in C/C++, is a requirement. Fluency in English is a must, written and spoken alike.
