Being the largest manufacturer of motors in Sweden, Xylem design and manufacture motors adapted specially for use in our products. Most industries see a shift towards more efficient systems and high efficiency. A change from asynchronous motors to motors run with variable frequency is important in achieving this. Here at Xylem we have started to replace the traditional asynchronous motor with new PM motors with integrated embedded drives and to strengthen our Motor Group we are now looking for a Motor Design Engineer.
Responsibilities
In your work with developing customized electric motors and drives you will for example work with:
* Fundamental Electromagnetic design
* Dimensioning of motors using commercial and internally developed software
* Product development projects
* Implementing new materials in motor design
* Building and testing prototypes in our own modern motor lab
* Implementation in production
* Technical support to internal and external customers
You will be a part of Xylem 's R&D Motor Group in Sundbyberg and also work closely together with other development units within for example hydraulics, mechanics, manufacturing and purchasing.
Qualifications
Suitable background for this role is an Electrical/Electronic Engineer with an MSc or PhD in the field of motors and drives. Experience in designing electric motors using tools such as FLUX or FluxMotor is an advantage.
Skills in English, both oral and written, are essential to perform this work as part of a global company. Communication skills in Swedish are a plus.
